Hierarchy
The hierarchy of Taoists is ranked into four main sections:
· Beginners
· Low-level priests
· Second highest-level priests
· Highest-level priests
The lowest level were the beginners. The beginners in the Taoism religion were called “demon soldiers”. The second lowest level were called the low-level priests ore the “demon clerks”. The second highest level was the second highest-level priests or “libationers”. The highest level consisted of the highest level priests. They were also referred to as the “head libationers”.(Patheos Library, 2012).
